FAQ's

At Primal Health, “natural health” means supporting your wellness through holistic, biblically sound approaches that use non-toxic substances, non-invasive protocols, and healthy lifestyle practices.

Rather than focusing only on symptoms, natural health looks at the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—to identify and address underlying imbalances. We create individualized recovery plans that emphasize prevention, self-care, and lasting wellness.
Natural medicine has been practiced for over 3,000 years, while what we now call conventional or allopathic medicine has been in use for just over 300 years.

Natural health focuses on improving wellness through a healthy lifestyle, nutrient-rich foods, and natural supplements, addressing health concerns without relying on pharmaceutical drugs. It emphasizes prevention, root-cause healing, and supporting the body’s innate ability to restore balance.
If you live with a chronic medical condition, experience frequent illness, fatigue, or pain, or simply want to optimize your health, we may be able to help. Many clients come to us seeking a more natural approach, wondering which supplements are right for them, or wanting to reduce their reliance on prescription drugs.

Unlike most conventional practices, we focus on uncovering the root cause of illness. Standard medical tests often overlook factors such as food sensitivities, hidden infections, environmental toxins, mold exposure, nutritional deficiencies, and metabolic imbalances. Through advanced testing, we can identify these underlying issues and address them with personalized diet, lifestyle changes, targeted supplements, and, when appropriate, natural or conventional medications.
No, you should not. You should always consult with your medical doctor about any changes you want to make with your medications.
No. We do not provide primary care services. Dr. Michael Lonardo serves as a consultant in preventive, nutritional, and natural health, helping clients address the root causes of chronic health concerns.

While we do not replace your primary care physician, we can work closely with them—and with any specialist physicians—when coordination is needed to support your overall care plan.
We are able to order the required labs, and you simply visit your local Quest Labs for the blood to be drawn. Additionally, some labs are performed in-house. Some testing can be done through conventional laboratories (as mentioned above [ie. Quest], and others are only available through specialty laboratories, and some testing will be performed at home with test kits to collect blood, urine, saliva, or stool. During your consultation, Dr. Lonardo will determine which tests are needed and will review testing recommendations, instructions (for instance, fasting or non-fasting, etc.), and costs.

Your financial resources and how much testing you want to do are taken into account, and the plan for testing is reviewed with you. Testing is frequently done to assess nutritional status, including amino acids, fatty acids, oxidative stress, vitamin levels, mitochondrial function, food sensitivities, and heavy metals. Many other tests are available, including genetic testing for a variety of conditions, hormone evaluations, bone health, gastrointestinal health, adrenal function, and many others.
Yes. We often recommend nutritional supplements as part of a wellness plan that may also include lifestyle and dietary changes. In some cases, supplements can be used to support health in ways that reduce the need for certain prescription medications, though we do not advise discontinuing any medication without guidance from your prescribing physician.

Our supplement recommendations are based on scientific research and clinical experience. We carry only high-quality products that undergo rigorous third-party testing for purity and potency. These supplements are often superior to many over-the-counter options, as they are typically free from unnecessary fillers, allergens, and additives.

Disclaimer: Supplements are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease and should be used under the guidance of a qualified health professional.
Yes. To help create a comfortable and healthy environment for everyone:

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.

Makeup is fine, but please avoid perfume, cologne, oils, or strongly fragranced products (including hair products, sunscreens, and lotions), as many people are sensitive to these substances.

Do not bring food or drinks that are not part of your health recovery plan.

Drink at least 8 ounces of water within an hour of your appointment.

For parents: Please do not bring children to your appointment. If your child has an appointment, avoid bringing additional children unless you have cleared it with our office staff in advance.

If you are feeling unwell or experience an emergency, please contact us immediately to reschedule. Your cooperation helps us serve all clients in the best possible way.
We do not accept insurance. We do accept most major credit cards, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Financing options are also available, including 24 months same-as-cash with approved credit.

Some health share plans may reimburse you for our services; however, we cannot guarantee coverage. Reimbursement will depend on your specific plan and provider. If you intend to submit a claim, please retain your receipt and verify eligibility directly with your carrier.
Payment is due at the time services are provided. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, most major credit cards, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and financing with approved credit.

If paying by credit card, the cardholder must be present at the time of payment or we must have a signed credit card authorization form on file.
Acceptance of Homeoprophylaxis (HP) is entirely at the discretion of each school, daycare, or camp. While some private institutions have approved it in the past, we cannot guarantee acceptance.

HP is not recognized by the government in North Carolina, Georgia, or Florida as a substitute for standard immunizations. However, all three states allow medical and religious exemptions.
No method of immunization—conventional or alternative—is 100% effective. There is always some risk of contracting disease. Overall immunity is also influenced by factors such as diet, toxic exposures, and stress levels.

Studies, including Dr. Isaac Golden’s research, suggest that HP may reduce the likelihood of contracting certain diseases, with one study showing a 91% effectiveness rate among children with known exposure. If illness does occur after taking HP, it is often reported to be milder and shorter in duration. This may be because the body is already “familiar” with the disease on an energetic level.

Regardless of prior HP dosing, if you or your child contract any disease, you should contact your healthcare provider for evaluation and guidance.
